In 1991 we began operating Anderson Memorial Funeral Home in Romeoville. This location served many other Will County communities as well. Providing both larger chapels or smaller spaces, Anderson Memorial Chapel was able to provide visitations for all sizes of family needs. In 2006, we acquired our property on Renwick Road in Crest Hill, to build our newer space. We broke ground in November of 2012, and began serving the community with services there in January of 2014. While it provided a bigger challenge; building from the ground up, it was an even greater opportunity to meet the changing needs and trends for families.
Founder Richard Anderson remembers it this way, “Having served so many families in our Romeoville location, we learned plenty about what worked well and what improvements we could make to enhance the family experience. It was time to move beyond just ferns and curtains and create a comfortable space with natural sunlight. We added open architecture, creating a more airy setting”. The mission for this new building, as he put it, was to "create an environment that offered personal options to families”. Our lounge in Crest Hill was designed to accommodate seating for up to 50, to offer an option to enjoy a catered reception. This has been especially helpful for Memorial Services.
In 2019, Goodale Funeral Home was added to the family of Anderson Memorial Homes. In picturesque and historic downtown Lockport, its classic architecture offers a charming and elegant setting. We’ve added technological updates to this space to increase convenience as well. Beautiful stained mosaic art glass accents make this chapel space even more beautiful and intimate. Just up the slope of Hamilton Avenue viewing the Desplaines River completes the bucolic setting. With 3 such wonderful and convenient options, one of them will always meet the needs of our families.
